Automatic evaluation of CFD simulation results (Id 129)

Background: The Department of Computational Fluid Dynamics at HZDR is specialized in developing general modelling frameworks and reliable closure models for multiphase flow. In the last few years significant progress was made. The concept of unified closures for bubbly flow was put forward, which makes it possible to evaluate and assess the limitation in currently available closures. Based on this baseline concept a large number of simulations have been carried out for various flow configurations. A thorough evaluation of the results is necessary and urgent for further research and development. For this purpose, an automatic evaluation system using Java is established.
Main tasks:

  • Post-processing simulation and experiment results
  • Systematic evaluation of the simulation results using the Java program
  • Design and perform new simulations using the baseline closures
  • Analyze and document the results

Requirements

  • Good programming skills
  • Systematic work style
  • Basic knowledge of fluid dynamics and CFD
  • ANSYS CFX experience is desirable
