In this method the melt is permeated by a magnetic excitation field, and the arising induced magnetic field is measured. The induced field is superimposed by the excitation field and must be isolated by appropriate means of digital signal processing. From the obtained induced field, the global flow profile can then be calculated.

Until now the data analysis was conducted after completion of the experiments, using a Python software developed at HZDR. In the scope of this work the analysis is to be reimplemented in C++, whereby the induced magnetic field must be calculated in realtime. The used analog-digital-converter is is to be included in the software. Data acqusition and processing on the one side, and data display on the other side are to be realised in separate programs, and must communicate by a yet to be defined interface. A good software design with high test coverage is desirable. If there is enough time, a new method of extracting the induced field from the raw data is to be implemented.
