The Coherent THz Radiation group is working on the development of unique accelerator based THz sources and beamlines, THz based electron bunch diagnostics and the development and the design of dedicated user experiments with coherent THz radiation. In these areas we collaborate intensively with colleagues at DESY (source development, electron bunch diagnostic, user experiments),CFEL, FUB and U Nijmegen (Pilot THz pump probe experiment), XFEL, HZB, DLR and the PTB (electron bunch diagnostics and THz photondiagnostic). Currently the activities are supported through one BMBF project Photoinitiated dynamics studied in the femtosecond to picosecond time and the THz/IR – PHz frequency domain: PIDID a multi institutional initiative (PIDID) and within the frame of the HGF program topic Accelerator Research and Development (ARD).

 The THz Testfacility at ELBE - TELBE serves in the coming years exclusively as an ARD test facility for electron bunch diagnostic on quasi - cw low energy electron beams and for the generatiion of super-radiant THz pulses with a low energy linear accelerator. Regardless of this the AG Coherent THz radiation will select and perform first pilot experiments as soon as possible.
