Welcome at the User Facilities of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf

The Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) operates several research infrastructures most of which are accessible to external users. About 50 % of the available beam or magnet time is allotted to external users.

ELBE – Cen­ter for High-Power Radiation Sources

The radiation source ELBE provides an electron beam of high brilliance and low emittance. This primary beam can generate various kinds of electromagnetic radiation and particle beams, which also are available for experiments. Twice per year users are invited to apply for beamtime at ELBE.

Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory

The Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HLD) offers pulsed highest magnetic fields (European record with 94.2 tesla) and excellent experimental facilities for materials research. HLD is part of the European Magnetic Field Laboratory (EMFL). Applications for magnet time are evaluated within this cooperation.

Ion Beam Cen­ter

The Ion Beam Cen­ter is an internationally leading cen­ter of competence for the application of ion beams in materials research. Plasma and ion sources generate ions of all species at energies between 10 eV and 50 MeV. The cen­ter is funded as user facility by the EU.

Rossendorf Beamline ROBL at ESRF

The Rossendorf Beamline is located at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, France. Here, energy research benefits from Europe’s most brilliant source of synchrotron X-ray light. Four experimental stations for radiochemical experiments are available.
