The two stage test loop MTLoop (Out of Order)

The two stage test loop MTLoop (Measurement Test Loop) was constructed in 1995 for the test of redesigned methods of measurement. Through the possibility to make an air water current with defined emptying tube rates in a normal pipeline as soon as through the possibility to use spatially and within a given time high-resolution measurement technology, the plant proved to be suitable for basis-oriented investigations for transient two-phase currents. Within the framework of an investigation project, the plant was employed in order to examine transient two-phase currents in upright pipelines. The successor of the test loop is the thermo hydraulics experimental plant TOPFLOW (Transient Two Phase Flow Test Facility), the for the investigation of fixed and transient phenomena in two-phase currents as well as to the evolution and the Validierung that in Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD-) codes contained models serves.

Construction

MTLoop represents a bow in which the liquid phase is supported by a circulating pump in the ring. An overall view is given in the picture. The two-phase current is made either by mixing of air in or by vaporization in a tube line section heated electrically. After cycling the test section, the two-phase mixture reaches a cyclone separator where the gassing and/or steam part is disconnected. The liquid part is guided back to the pump. The riser consists of heating rung and the test track with the air bubbling appliance and the Wire-mesh sensors. From the riser, the mixture is routed into a further level tube line section which can be employed as a level test track. This management leads to the cyclone separator on the side. The entire bow is designed for a company in the case of a maximum of 2.5 MPa and the corresponding saturation temperature of 225° and it was removed by the TESTING AND RESEARCH LABORATORY for the experimental company. All pipelines of the circuit with the exception of the down pipe have the inside diameter DN50. The down pipe is adapted to the sectional view of the sucking carbine of the credits with DN65.
