Current Research Interest

Synthesis of novel neuroreceptor ligands in view of a radiolabelling with PET nuclides (18F, 11C).

  • Main focus on vesicular acetylcholin transporter (VAChT) and serotonin transporter (SERT)
  • Restriction of conformational flexibility in order to improve receptor binding properties

Diastereoselective approaches to monocyclic or ring-fused piperazin-2-ones and morpholin-3-ones

  • Formation of heteroatom–carbon bonds via ring-opening of strained electrophiles (oxiranes, aziridines, thiolactones)
  • Cyclic pseudopeptides; Synthesis of natural products

Development of radiolabelling methods applying readily available 18F labelled precursors

  • Use of 4-[18F]fluorobenzaldehyde for “one-pot/one-step” reductive etherification
  • Use of 4-[18F]fluoronitrobenzene for “one-pot/two-step” reductive amination
