Production and chemical purification of radionuclides (cyclotron / natural decay series / nuclear research reactor)


Application of selected radionuclides for georadiochemical investigations


Radiolabelling of humic substances and nanoparticles (14C; 131I and radiometals e.g. 139Ce)


Influence of geochemical parameters on the mobility of metal-humate complexes


Inorganic and organic chemistry of the f-elements (lanthanides and actinides)


Study of the leaching behaviour and extraction processes of the global demanded key elements (lanthanides) from ores by means of calixarenes


Control on the migration behaviour of cationic radionuclides (d- and f-elements e.g. 56Co, 160Tb, 135La) by means of macrocyclic, multifunctional chelate ligands (calixarenes)



Ongoing projects:

Production and chemical separation of radionuclides; neutron deficit lanthanides (Cerium 139Ce, Neodymium 141Nd, Europium 146Eu, Dysprosium 159Dy, Ytterbium 169Yb) and Vanadium 48V (in TiO2) via (p,xn) nuclear reactions at the Leipzig cyclotron.


Routine production and chemical separation of n.c.a. (no carrier added) radionuclides (18F, 56Co, 64Cu, 85Sr, 86Y, 88Y, 135La) for radiochemical studies up to 40 GBq (~ 10-19 mol/ml)
