| Description | Close-up of the electron gun: This so-called SRF gun knocks electrons out of a material by laser and accelerates them. It delivers particularly short and intense electron pulses, an important prerequisite for the final acceleration in the ELBE accelerator and its connected radiation sources. The device has been in operation since 2014 at ELBE Center for High-power Radiation Sources at HZDR. The injector is routinely used to generate THz radiation. |
