Helmholtz Open Science Workshop “Access to and reuse of scientific software”

Topic

HGF Open Science LogoWith the ongoing digitization of research and teaching, the number of software solutions developed at academic institutions to be used to process scientific data rises. The requirements of open accessibility and re-use of scientific results can only be ensured, if research data and program code are made openly accessible. Problems, challenges, solutions and recommendations on access to and reuse of scientific software will be discussed with reference to the following topics:

  • Business modells
  • Licensing and other legal aspects
  • Personal, education, career paths
  • Reproducibility
  • Standards and quality assurance
  • Technical infrastructures
  • Citation and recognition
  • Visibility and modularity

The workshop consists of lectures in plenary and theme-oriented, interactive sessions, where people discuss key topics and develop solutions. The results of the sessions are summarized and published in the form of a report as a result of the workshop.

The workshop will be held in German.
