PhD Student (m/f)
The position will be available from now on. The employment contract is limited to three years. The regular weekly working time will be 75 % of the normal collectively agreed work hours under TVöD. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf.
- excellent diploma or master's degree in physics, materials science or a related area
- willingness to travel to other research locations (synchrotron facilities and the University of Duisburg-Essen) and international conferences
- good written and spoken English skills
- commitment and discipline to write a doctoral thesis within 3 years
This DFG funded project aims at achieving strong nanoscale modifications of the magnetic properties of binary alloy thin films. The successful applicant (m/f) will investigate the interplay between structural and magnetic modifications and apply this knowledge to create novel magnetic devices, e.g., devices relevant to data storage and logic applications.
