Magnetic separation

magnetic-separation-1

Magnetic separation is an elegant technique to treat to extract paramagnetic and ferromagnetic particles from e.g. ores or scraps. It is routineously applied in mineral processing and find numerous novel application e.g. in the separation of biological compounds by means of functionalized magnetic nanoparticles.

While preparatory works towards magnetic carrier flotation and magnetic flocculation are on the way, we currently deal with the magnetic separation of rare earth ions from aqueous solutions.
