Organizing facility

The third workshop was organized by the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam/The Netherlands and was held at Amsterdan on February 04 - 06, 2001.
To make the third workshop successfully the international organising committee (St. Preusche, Germany; P. van der Jagt, F. van Langevelde, P. van Leuffen, P. Kruijer, The Netherlands; G. Bormans and C. Dupont, Belgium) made the program on the base of "questionnaires of interests" that were sent to each facility as the workshop approaches.

Participants

50 participants from 13 countries came to the third workshop. Additional 13 further participants from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam took the opportunity to attend some sessions.

Program

Two invited lectures to broad our knowledge or to introduce us in the field of diagnostic value of FDG in cardiology and the specific needs of PET cameras.

Poster presentations of the facilities in the opening/visiting evening

IBA presentation of new developments and the new structure of the After-Sales Department

A lot of time for discussion of the several topics:

  • Each session started with a short lecture of the chairman as an overview or introduction related to the topic
  • Operation and maintenance of the two types of cyclotrons
  • Targetry and chemistry module operation
  • How to solve problems and trouble-shooting
  • [18F]FDG production and commercialization
