Designing a wire-mesh sensor for industrial applications (Id 218)

No current offer!

Foto: CAD drawing indWMS ©Copyright: Martin TschofenWire-mesh sensors were developed at HZDR for measuring multiphase flows with high spatial and temporal resolution. Today they are applied worldwide at partner institutions in the scientific environment. The current research at the Institute of Fluid Dynamics aims at further development of an online measuring system for industrial application. However, the environmental and operational conditions of the target market (chemical and petrochemical industry, but also e.g. solar power stations with direct evaporation) generate stringent requirements that need to be met by the design of the system. Therefore, on the basis of preliminary work, a new and robust sensor design for high temperature and high pressure applications has to be realized while taking into account available manufacturing technologies at the same time. Furthermore, additional components need to be inserted into the system. To support this work we are searching for a motivated student assistant (m/f).
