At the Institute of Fluid Dynamics, Dresdyn will be a new large-scale experiment built up. The measurement data from several PLCs and Microcontrollers are captured and must be archived. Due to high incoming data rates a perfomant software is necessary for writing the archive data.

The task includes the following topics:

• Investigation of the HDF5 file format (structure, performance, parallel processing)
• Specification and optimization of a data storage structure for continuous data streams
• Creation of libraries for use in the logging system as well as in non-time critical evaluation

• Advanced knowledge in C ++
• Basic knowledge of Linux
