Research Assistant

The Processing Department at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology is hiring a Research Assistant (f/m/d), with the job set to begin on 01.06.2024. The department's research focus lies in the field of flotation, a separation process widely used in mineral beneficiation.

**Tasks:**

  • Ore characterization
  • Preparation and conduction of ore beneficiation tests, mainly flotation and grinding
  • Upscaling experiments, including the use of a mini-pilot plant
  • Documentation, evaluation of results, and identification of optimization potential

Requirements

**Requirements:**

  • enrolment in a Master's degree programme in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar
  • experience in laboratory work and pilot scale work
  • experience with flotation separation process is an advantage
  • experimental skills in handling laboratory techniques
  • ability to work independently

Conditions

**General conditions:**

  • Start date from 01.06.2024
  • 12 to 18 working hours per week
  • Availability for at least 1 year
  • Place of work: Freiberg
