Ahmed Jamal Afifi received a bachelor’s degree and an M.Sc. in computer engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) in 2008 and 2011, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) at Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in 2021. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz-Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) where he is focused on hyperspectral 3D point cloud classification and segmentation. His research interests include computer vision, deep learning, 3D object reconstruction from a single image, and medical image analysis.
