Multiphase Flows - Modelling, Simulation, Experiment and Application
Abstract submission is now open until August 15!
Abstract submission
Conference
The conference will take place after the Short Course from Wednesday noon until Friday noon.
Multiphase flows occur in a large variety of industrial applications, for instance in the chemical and process industry, in power generation, and in the automotive industry. In order to improve the quality of these products, to accelerate their development, and to increase their safety, it is important to better understand, model, and simulate multiphase flows.
The goals of the conference are to discuss the state of the art in multiphase flow research and applications, and to foster discussion and exchange of knowledge. Experts from the experimental side, from modelling and simulation, as well as experts from the application field are invited to present their research and results to a worldwide audience.
General topics of interest include
- Simulation technology for multiphase flows
- Phase interaction models
- Turbulence models
- Solution algorithms
- Multi-scale modelling techniques
- Application of simulation methods to multiphase flow problems
- Experimental investigations of multiphase and magnetohydrodynamic flows
- Measurement methods for multiphase and magnetohydrodynamic flows
An online repository will be provided to all participants of the conference for download. Additionally, selected contributions will be invited to submit a full paper to the open access journal Experimental and Computational Multiphase Flow.
Keynote lectures
- Modeling the dynamics of bubbles under the influence of surfactants
Kosuke Hayashi, Kobe University, Japan - Multiphase modelling through space and time - extending the multi-scale modelling paradigm
Stefan Pirker, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria
Conference Dinner on Thursday, 13 Nov 2025
The conference dinner will take place on Thursday evening in the Sophienkeller Dresden, in the heart of Dresden's old town, directly opposite of the Zwinger and close to the Semper Opera House. The bus will take you directly after the conference from the conference venue to the restaurant in the historic vaults of the Taschenbergpalais.
Let yourself be whisked away to the glamorous Baroque era in Dresden's most beautiful vaulted restaurant. In addition to a buffet and drinks until 9 p.m., magicians, jugglers and musicians will entertain you. The return journey to the hotel can be made on foot or by streetcar thanks to its central location.
