HZDR Innovation Fund
HZDR Innovation Fund
In 2016, the HZDR established the HZDR Innovation Fund. The internal fund - financed in equal parts by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and the HZDR's own funds - aims to support validation and spin-off projects. The funding currently amounts to 400,000 euros per year. The fund has already been used to successfully co-finance a large number of transfer projects, including the three Helmholtz Innovation Labs at HZDR. Applications are submitted internally using a form and can be submitted at any time.
2025 to 2028: HZDR-Innovation Fund+ PLUS
The "HZDR Innovation Fund+PLUS" is used exclusively to finance the implementation of validation projects. The project volume for a validation project may amount to a maximum of EUR 100,000, of which 90% (maximum EUR 90,000) is financed from the Innovation Fund+PLUS. The applicant's own funds of 10% (maximum EUR 10,000) can be provided by the applicant institute's own funds or central transfer funds (HZDR Innovation Fund). Both smaller projects for orientation (market exploration, potential analysis) and projects for technical validation can be applied for. It is also possible to apply in stages. The maximum limit of EUR 100,000 (project costs) applies to each research result. Funding is provided within the framework of the directive of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport for the funding of projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the funding period 2021 to 2027 for the validation of research results (FRL Validierungsförderung EFRE 2021–2027).
