Experimental modeling of magnetic field-induced interfacial instabilities in electrolysis cells and liquid metal batteries (ENMAG)
Within the project ENMAG experiments and simulations are performed in order to better understand interface instabilities in Hall-Héroult cells for aluminium production and in liquid metal batteries.

SOLSTICE

Modelling of mass transfer and electrode kinetics in liquid metal batteries
In frame of the DFG project, solutal and thermal convection as well as electrode reactions in liquid metal batteries have been modelled in order to improve their efficiency.
