IHRS NanoNet was funded by the Initiative and Networking Fund of Helmholtz Association (VH-KO-606) until Dec 2020.

NanoNet+ Annual Workshop 2026

The Annual Workshop of the (former) International Helmholtz Research School (IHRS) for Nanolectronic Networks (NanoNet) and the Department of Nanoelectronics of HZDR took place at the Jugendherberge Schöneck between September 16th-18th, 2026.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Dr. Stephan Winnerl (Dept. Spectroscopy, HZDR) and Prof. Vojislav Krstic (Applied Physics, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg). This workshop is part of a continious series since 13 years starting with the first workshop of the IHRS NanoNet in 2013.
The topics of the workshop were Novel Materials and emergent exotic electronic states and phenomena.

Posters [List of Posters]

Poster presentations are highly appreciated. A poster session will be organized on the first day and the posters will be on display for discussions during the entire workshop. Please contact us.

Student Award

The Student Award recognizes the best presentation by a young scientist. It consists of a glass trophy for the winner, a certificate, and a voucher of 50/40/30 EUR for the first/second/third prize. Many thanks to the HZDR Friends’ Association for sponsoring the vouchers. The trophy was sponsored privately by the NanoNet coordinator.
The winner of the First Prize is Simon Attenberger from FAU Erlangen, the Second Prize went to Alessandro Puddu from HZDR (as in 2025), the Third Prize to Madhuri Chennur from HZDR, also as in 2025 - Congratulations.
Next in the rankings were Louis Stein from HZDR and Chan Tar Soe from CAS Prague, who had just two and three points fewer than Madhuri, respectively. The 2026 trophy and the winner Simon Attenberger from FAU Erlangen.

Program, Abstracts, and Transport

The Agenda is available here (PDF).
The complete Abstract Booklet can be downloaded here (5,2 MB).
Printed copies will be provided at the conference venue.
Please consider the environment before printing.
The scientific program will start after lunch on Day 1, and will run until Day 3 lunch time. It will include invited talks, contributed talks, and one poster session on Day 1.
Invited talks are scheduled for 35+10 minutes,
Contributed talks for 20+5 minutes.
Posters will be on display the whole time. Format should be A0 in portrait orientation.
The complete lists of Talks and Posters are available. At arrival, we recommend to take regional train (Deutsche Bahn, about 3.5h) from Dresden-Hauptbahnhof leaving every hour. Change to Schöneck(Vogtl) in Zwickau Hbf or Plauen Oberer Bhf. From Plauen there is a bus connection, too.
The youth hostel Schöneck is about 450m from station Schöneck(Vogtl), if you leave the train at station 'Schöneck(Vogtl) Ferienpark' you walk for 650m.
At departure, we will conclude after lunch at around 2 pm.

Excursion

On the first day, we met for a small Walking Tour of about 1.5 km in front of the hostel at 6:00 pm. Afterwards the poster session with finger food dinner started. The youth hostel has served a very nice finger food bufet which was very well appriciated by the participants.
On the second day afternoon, we have visited the Vogtland Arena Ski Jumping Hill in Klingenthal. We took the regional train from 'Klingenthal, Ferienpark' station at 2:23 pm. sharp. Then we took the bus in Klingenthal, which left the station right in front of us. But it returned after an urgent phone call. So we could join a guided tour at 3 pm. After the tour we have enjoyed the summer alpine coaster to return to the starting point at the hill foot. The departure was at 4:30 pm. (!! sharp) by a bus of 'Herolds Reisen' in front of the entrance. The entrance fee and guided tour costs were privately sponsored by the NanoNet coordinator Dr. Peter Zahn, as the HZDR administration does not cover "social activities" at scientific events.
