Research Assistant (f/m/d) or Engineer (f/m/d)

The Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) aims to develop innovative technologies for the economy in order to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing raw materials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.
Subject to the approval of funds, the Biotechnology Department is offering a position as a Research Assistant (f/m/d) or Engineer (f/m/d) for two years from June 1, 2020.
- taking part in an application-oriented project for the recovery of metal ions from industrial wastewater in a novel process using biological complexing agents
upscaling of the process, planning and installation of pilot plants in an industrial environment
aim of the project is the development of a concept for the economic exploitation of the technology, if applicable within the framework of a spin-off
- completed university degree (master or diploma) in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, process engineering, metallurgy or similar
- experience in the upscaling of processes, ideally in the field of water treatment
experience in cooperation with industrial companies
ability to work in a team and interest in an interdisciplinary application-oriented R&D project
very good communication skills
very good English knowledge in word and writing
