Transfer Manager (f/m/d) Project CORAERO

As a member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, the HZDR employs about 1,400 people. The Center's focus is on interdisciplinary research in the areas energy, health and matter.

The Institute of Fluid Dynamics is conducting basic and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes.

As part of the Institute, the Department of Experimental Thermal Fluid Dynamics invites applications as Transfer Manager (f/m/d) Project CORAERO. The position will be available from 1 April 2022. The employment contract is limited to three years.


The CORAERO joint project funded by the Helmholtz Association deals with aerosols, their thermodynamics and spread in rooms, as well as strategies and technologies to avoid aerosol-borne infections. We are looking for a transfer manager (f/m/d) for the following topics:

  • Supporting the working groups of the consortium in the transfer of ideas and concepts into practice and in cooperation with associated industrial partners of the consortium
  • Develop transfer and marketing strategies for technological solutions
  • Securing IP and acquiring new partners for joint exploitation activities
  • Supporting the acquisition of cooperative follow-up projects in the field of science and technology transfer
  • Supporting the generation of ideas in the consortium within the framework of regular think tank activities
  • Conducting own scientific work for the development of findings and technical solution approaches


  • Preferably a PhD degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management or Natural Science subject
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following topics: physics of aerosols, aerosol measurement technology, air conditioning and ventilation technology, measurement and sensor technology, fluid mechanics
  • Independent work style with high demands on the quality of own work
  • Well-developed social and communication skills
