Laboratory / Technical assisstant (f/m/d) Spectroscopic-electrochemical couplings

The Institute of Resource Ecology performs research to protect humans and the environment from hazards caused by pollutants resulting from technical processes that produce energy and raw materials.

As part of the Institute, the Department of Surface Processes invites applications as Laboratory / Technical assisstant (f/m/d) Spectroscopic-electrochemical couplings.

The position will be available from 1 September 2022, subject to project approval. The employment contract is limited to three years.

Your tasks:

  • Support in the development and optimization of new coupling methodological techniques, involving electrochemistry and spectroscopy.

  • Development of measurement routines (possibly involving programming).

  • Assisting measurements using the new coupling techniques.

Your profile:

  • You have a strong interest in technical and practical work with complex devices.

  • You have a professional formation in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Optics, Optoelectronics, Galvanics and similar or have a similar technical education and have already gained relevant experiences (see below).

  • Experience in spectroscopy (especially nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared spectroscopy) and/or electrochemistry is desired.

  • You act in a goal-oriented and self-organized manner, are motivated and creative.

  • You bring a willingness to work with radioactive material in a radiation protection laboratory.

  • Good communication skills in English, as well as an intercultural interest complete your profile. German language skills are an advantage.
