Postdoc (f/m/d) Developing fusion approaches to integrate geospatial data

At the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), innovative technologies for the circulareconomy are developed to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing rawmaterials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.

As part of the Institute, the Department of Exploration invites applications as Postdoc (f/m/d) Developing fusion approaches to integrate geospatial data.

The position will be available from 1 November 2022. The employment contract is limited to two years.

Your tasks:

  • Developing fusion approaches to integrate geospatial data such as landuse, demographic, environmental, remote sensing, and economic data
  • Developing unsupervised and weak-supervised approaches to integrate multimodal datasets
  • Publishing results in international peer-reviewed journals and participating in international conferences

Your profile:

  • PhD degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Remote Sensing, Social Sciences, Deep Learning, Computer Vision or related fields
  • Experience in weak-supervised and unsupervised approaches
  • Experience in information fusion
  • Very good English language skills (both written and spoken)
  • Ability to work in an international context and willingness to work as a team
