PhD Student (f/m/d) Ultrafast CISStronics: Chiral-Induced Spin Selectivity effect on ultrashort timescales

The Department of "High-field THz driven Phenomena" is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) Ultrafast CISStronics: Chiral-Induced Spin Selectivity effect on ultrashort timescales.
Your tasks
- Designing and fabricating lithographically patterned metallic multilayer films and integrating them with organic molecules
- Investigating the structural and optical properties of organic/inorganic hybrid systems
- Exploration of magnetization and electron spin dynamics on ultrashort timescales
- Proof-of-concept demonstration for energy-efficient, ultrafast spintronic emitters based on organic/inorganic hybrids
Your profile
- Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Physics, Optics, Material sciences, Physical chemistry or related field
- Experience with optical methods, nonlinear optics and short-pulsed laser systems
- Expertise in the field of magnetism and/or terahertz-physics
- Basic experience in scientific computational software and methods
- Good and active communication skills as well as an independent way of working
- Willingness to work across disciplines in diverse teams
- Good written and oral language skills in English, knowledge of German is an advantage
