The Institute of Radiation Physics conducts research for states of matter under extreme conditions and in very small dimensions.
The Department of Nuclear Physics is looking for a Postdoc (f/m/d) Experimental Nuclear Astrophysics (LUNANOVA ERC Synergy Grant).
Your tasks
- Prepare, perform, and analyze experiments at Felsenkeller underground ion accelerator on solar fusion reactions
- Collaboration with PhD, MSc, and BSc students
Your profile
- Completed PhD in the field of Experimental Nuclear Astrophysics
- Experience with the operation and application of radiation detectors
- Proven experience with nuclear physics experiments
- Experience working with radionuclide standards
- Proficiency in ROOT for data analysis
- Experience with GEANT4 for simulation of detectors and experiments
- Ability to work effectively in international and interdisciplinary teams
- Willingness to travel for extended research stays, experiments and conferences
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
