we would like to inform you about goals, contents and the procedure of the upcoming employee survey.
Goals and contents of the survey
Our employees are important to us. Therefore, we would like to inquire about what you fancy about your work and where you see room for improvement. Work family balance, general health and keeping healthy are factors that are especially important to us. The survey contains questions regarding the assessment of psychological strain at the work place or work surrounding. According to German legislature, this analysis must be made regularly. The employee interviews‘ goal is, among other criteria, to gain more information about psychological health factors at the workplace.
The survey is divided into the following subsections:
- General tasks
- Work family balance
- Health including the assessment of psychological strain
Your personal results will influence the planning of future measures. You will be informed internally of the outcome of the survey.
The employee interview will be completed as an online-assessment between the 14th of May and the 17th of June 2018. You will be invited to take part by e-mail. This e-mail will contain a link to the online survey. You will be given access to the survey by an access token that you can choose by yourself from May 7th in the secretariat of your institute/central department.
Data anonymization and data protection
The contents and process of the survey have been agreed upon with the works council and the data protectionists to meet your interests.
The survey will be carried out with the support of the company novaworx from Dresden. This company’s employees are work psychologists and bound by contract to data protection.
All survey data flow to the survey server (SSL-Certificate) of novaworx via an encrypted connection. No IP addresses or other service data that enable the traceability back to you are saved. HZDR do not have access to filled out forms or digitalized raw data.
Therefore the survey is conducted anonymously and it is not required that you state your name. To further ensure anonymity, the online survey is conducted and evaluated on a task group level with at least 8 employees. If this aggregation level falls short of 8, values will be aggregated on a higher level. Questions regarding personal employee information and work status serve the purpose of forming group means and the suppression of irrelevant interview parts. Your statements will under no circumstances be used to identify you. Your text statements will be categorized and summarized by novaworx before feedback. By doing so it is ensured that anonymity is secured when stating comments.
You yourself decide whether you want to participate in the survey. You will not receive any disadvantages if you do not participate. But we hope that you make use of this opportunity to communicate to us your experiences and wishes. The higher the participation rate in the survey the more expressive results will be achieved. You can also skip certain questions by not answering them. There is no technically mandatory way of answering the questions.
Hints for checking
Please check the answer that reflects your opinion the most. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers. Round checking fields mean that you have to choose between answering options. You can only choose one option. Angular fields can be checked more than one. The guidance text will hint at this possibility. Please formulate a short and concise answer in the designated field for questions with an open text format that do not involve a checking option. It could be that some questions seem redundant to you. Please answer these questions in spite of their seeming redundant, as parts of the interview will not be open to evaluation otherwise. The assessment of standardized scientific instruments can lead to thematic overlaps in questions.
