Prof. Joachim Knoch (RWTH Aachen) Nanoelectronics Devices Beyond the Regular MOSFET Silicon-based CMOS technology has been declared running out of steam for the last decade or so, and novel materials as well as new device architectures have been investigated intensively as replacement of and or add-ons to current Si-CMOS technology. Yet, implementations of truly novel devices (including materials) in integrated circuits are scarce. In the seminar talk, various transistor concepts are reviewed and it will be discussed why it is not a good idea to write silicon off. |
