Description
|
A disk made of magnetic material is irradiated with chromium ions (orange). To achieve a spatial demarcation between irradiated and non-irradiated areas, a protective layer (green) is applied in a ring on the disk. The protective layer blocks the ions so that the area under it consists of undisturbed magnetic material (magenta). The ions penetrate the unprotected area in the center of the disk (blue) and cause a decrease in the magnetic moment.
