PhD student Felix Schindler (31, right) and postdoc Till Zürner (31) pose at a facility for studying the flow behavior of liquid metals at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) on Wednesday (May 18, 2022). During the experiments at the HZDR Institute of Fluid Dynamics, the researchers discovered that under certain circumstances the flow of liquid metal is much more turbulent than expected.
