Mechanical Setup of the NRF Experiments

Up to now, four HPGe detectors of 100% relative efficieny will be used for NRF experiments at ELBE. In order to facilitate access to the detector's Anti-Compton suppression shields and electronics the mounting structure is build in a modular way consisting of four rather independent tables. Each horizontal table and vertical frame holds one set of a HPGe detector and it's surrounding BGO Anti-Compton suppression shield mounted on rails allowing for an independent motion. The rails allow for precise and reproducible mounting and dismounting of the components while preventing misalignments and mechanical damage. The mechanical structure is displayed in the following picture:
