Some details about me

I was born 1964 in Camagüey, a small town in the west of Cuba. I attended primary and secondary school in Havanna, where I lived until 1982. My mother and my father both come from Ecuador and have lived in Cuba since 1963.
I studied Physics at the University of Havanna for two years and went in the (former) German Democratic Republic (GDR) after that. I finished my Ph.D. in mathematical physics in 1989 at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. I returned to Cuba and worked in the faculty of physics at Havanna University for one and a half year. Since 1991, I have been living in Dresden, Germany and started working at the Department Magnetohydrodynamics in the Institute of Fluid Dynamics at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf in 1992.
