Some details about me

I was born in 1964 in Camagüey, a city in central Cuba. I attended primary and secondary school in Santiago de Cuba and Havana, where I lived until 1982. Both my mother and my father are from Ecuador and have lived in Cuba since 1963.
I studied Physics at the University of Havana for two years and then moved to the (former) German Democratic Republic (GDR). I completed my Ph.D. in mathematical physics in 1989 at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. I returned to Cuba and worked at the faculty of physics at the University of Havana for one and a half years. Since 1991, I have been living in Dresden, Germany and in 1992 I began working at the Department of Magnetohydrodynamics at the Institute of Fluid Dynamics , Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf.
