Forschung für Nachhaltigkeit und Sicherheit

Die Arbeiten des Institutes dienen der Verbesserung der Nachhaltigkeit technischer Prozesse sowie dem Schutz von Mensch und Umwelt vor technischen Risken. Die Vorhaben sind auf die Erhöhung der Effizienz, der Sicherheit und der Umweltverträglichkeit technischer Prozesse gerichtet. Die Entwicklung und Validierung von Simulationswerkzeugen unter Einsatz von fortgeschrittenen thermo- und fluiddynamischen Berechnungsverfahren vereint das Themenspektrum des Institutes.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Qualification of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes for the simulation of complex two-phase flows with relevance for industrial applications. The theoretical work is based on sound experiments at the TOPFLOW test facility using advanced two-phase measuring instrumentation.
