Universal data processing system for prototype development
The development and experimental testing of prototypes of radiation detection systems usually requires an individually adapted solution for data acquisition, handling and processing. It has to be able to combine the actual signals with their metadata to gain the desired information - in our case an image. For this purpose a more or less complex and laborious is required.
In our group, a multi purpose data processingsystem has been developed an is constantly serviced. It has been designed to handle all data from different prototypes in a standardized way. Modules for data processing can be included to provide e.g. the reconstruction algorithms for the different measurement methods. For that purpose, data models have to be implemented that the physical properties are properly mapped to the in-silico domain.
The data from out Compton camera prototypes have been evaluated by means of this system.
