September 12th,
2016
10:00 to 15:00
German Ministry for Education and Science (BMBF) Bonn
House 2, room 2
The European Light Infrastructure ELI is a multi-site High Power and Short Pulse Laser Facility presently under construction in Dolnì Břežany (CZ), Szeged (HU) and Bucharest (RO). ELI is a landmark on the roadmap of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) (http://www.esfri.eu/roadmap-2016).
ELI was supported by the EU during the preparatory phase, however, the long-term operation has to be financed by the member states of the ELI consortium, which presently consists of CZ, DE, HU, IT, RO, UK.
In order to investigate the interest which the German scientific and industrial communities have in ELI, the German Ministry for Education and Science (BMBF) has asked the HZDR to organize a workshop. The main goal of the workshop is to bundle and channel the scientific interest of the German communities in ELI. The outcome of this workshop is of key importance for the future strategy of the BMBF with respect to its support of ELI. I therefore ask you sincerely to participate because very important political decisions for ELI and the German Laser community will depend on its outcome.
