Group Leader Simulation of Electrochemical Processes

Research Interests:

• multiphase flow and interfacial phenomena
• gas evolution in electrochemical processes
• electrochemical processes: control by magnetic fields
• numerical methods: phase-field; spectral elements, VOF, Level-Set
• magnetohydrodynamics in liquid metals and melts
• electromagnetic boundary layer control

Current Topics:

• capillary and electrical effects on gas evolution in electrolysis (project MADAGAS)
• nucleation, growth, departure, coalescence of gas bubbles in electrochemical processes (project SineWave/OxySep)
• Euler-Euler modeling of alkaline electrolysis (project ALKALIMIT)
• electrodeposition of metal towards nano-structured surfaces (project NanoCones)
