Foam and Froth
The flowing behavior of foam is scarcely investigated, which has two reasons: Firstly, most flow measurement techniques are not applicable to foam. Secondly, The flowing behavior is defined by the complex interaction of mechanisms at a wide range of time and length scales. This makes it hard to design significant, reproducible experiments.
In this project, novel measurement techniques and phase-averaging numerical simulations are combined to extract meaningful insights into foam flow.
