Open Access Week 2025
Open Access Week 2025 will take place this year from 20 to 26 October.
Open Access Week is an opportunity for academics and researchers to learn about the potential benefits of open access, share what they have learnt with colleagues and inspire a wider audience to make open access a new norm in academia and research.
Open access to information - free, immediate online access to the results of scientific research and the right to use and reuse these results as needed - has the potential to transform the way research and scientific enquiry is conducted. It has immediate and far-reaching implications for academia, medicine, science, industry and society as a whole.
Open Access Week is an invaluable opportunity to combine the global impetus for the open sharing of knowledge with driving policy change and the importance of social issues that affect people around the world. The event will be celebrated by individuals, institutions and organisations around the world.
There will be a variety of events, including webinars, discussions and training sessions, covering topics such as FAIR data, data protection, sustainable open access models and the future of scholarly publishing.
The main aim of Open Access Week is to draw attention to Open Access and openness, to disseminate knowledge and to promote dialogue in the academic community.
On this page you will find an overview of the various offers that will be available during this year's Open Access Week.
