HIF cooperates with plant manufacturer Struers

The HIF has signed a cooperation agreement with the manufacturer of equipment for materialographic analysis from which both partners will benefit. For many years, the HIF has been using Struers' equipment for the preparation of complexly structured raw materials from primary and secondary sources.  These samples often pose very unusual challenges for the preparation laboratory, which have to be solved by developing innovative methods and work processes. Struers uses the resulting optimisation proposals for further development of its products. In return, Struers gives the HIF preferential access to the company's latest equipment developments. One of them is the newly developed polishing machine PM6. This polishing machine has now been put into operation at the HIF; its capability and use will be tested jointly by the HIF's preparation team and Struers' experts in the coming months.
