On September 4, 2023, the annual banquet "Dresden is(s)t bunt" will take place, bringing together thousands of people to share dishes from around the world and chat and discuss in a cheerful atmosphere. This year, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) will be a part of this vibrant event for the first time, joining many other institutions from politics, business, science, and culture. The common goal is to promote openness and peaceful coexistance in society.

The HZDR cordially invites everyone interested to visit our stand at the banquet between 4:00 and 8:00 pm. It is located at the long festive table that reaches from the Augustus Bridge across the Elbe River to the Schlossplatz in the historic center of Dresden. There, visitors will not only have the opportunity to meet HZDR employees from different cultures, but also gain insights into the center’s research. Among other attractions, there will be "R-EX", a robot dog used for resource exploration, as well as a "moiré wheel of fortune" with fascinating optical effects to discover.

"Dresden is(s)t bunt" started 2015 as a civil society initiative against xenophobic sentiment. Since then, the banquet has taken place annually. It is organized by the Cellex Foundation, AWO Sachsen, CSD Dresden e. V. and the association "Dresden - Place to be!".

Note for HZDR employees: There are still seats available at our festive table. If you want to join us to support this initiative, please register here (internal link).
