Corrosion research
Corrosion is one of the biggest challenges in developing high temperature batteries. At HZDR especially electrochemical corrosion studies are performed. For this purpose a special experimental setup has been developed, which allows performing experiments beyond 600°C. In order to understand the corrosion behaviour of different metals, polarisation curves and impedance spectra are recorded. The corrosion samples are then analyzed via SEM-EDX.
