Research Officer for EU and International Affairs (f/m/d)

The Department of International Collaboration and Research Funding is looking for a Research Officer for EU and International Affairs (f/m/d).

Your tasks

  • Identification and analysis of suitable funding opportunities from European programmes in the research areas health, data/ICT/ computing and matter (collaborative projects)
  • Consultancy for scientists during proposal preparation with a focus on technical, administrative and legal questions
  • Support of proposal preparation and project implementation for selected strategically relevant EU projects coordinated by HZDR
  • Review and negotiation of consortium agreements for EU projects according to the DESCA standard model
  • Support of projects in the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA)
  • Support of the internationalisation strategy of the research centre

Your profile

  • University degree in natural sciences including a PhD, experience from work as an independent reseracher is considered as an advantage, OR university degree in a field like STEM, law or SSH and experience from several years of responsible work in EU research funding
  • Experience in consultancy for third-party funding, ideally from European programmes
  • Sound background on EU (research) politics
  • High motivation to tackle new challenges and to quickly familiarize oneself with new topics
  • Good English writing skills
  • Flexibility to cope with strongly changing workloads
  • Good communication skills, team spirit and open mindedness
  • Readiness and flexibility to travel
  • English fluent, both written and verbal proficiency (C1), good knowledge of German would be desirable, additional languages are considered as a benefit
