What’s planned?
The HZDR's Working Group on Diversity and Equal Opportunities will host an information booth in front of the staff restaurant at the Rossendorf site. Employees will have the chance to learn about topics such as inclusion, age structure, gender ratio, and cultural backgrounds at the research center. Small interactive activities will invite people to engage and exchange ideas.
Culinary delights from around the world will be another highlight of the program: With the support of Widynski & Roick, HZDR’s catering partner, the Rossendorf staff restaurant will offer an international menu throughout the week. Selected dishes – based on recipe suggestions from international colleagues – will be served, featuring cuisines from Egypt, Italy, and Uzbekistan. Internal link to the menu
Why diversity matters
At HZDR, diversity is not just a buzzword – it is a key factor in the success of scientific work. Creative ideas and scientific excellence can only flourish in an open and discrimination-free environment. To tackle major societal and global challenges, all talents are needed at the center – regardless of origin, age, gender, religion, or individual lifestyle. About Diversity Day
German Diversity Day was launched in 2012 by the Charta der Vielfalt (Diversity Charter), which HZDR has signed along with more than 6,000 institutions across Germany. Since then, this annual event has provided companies and organizations with a platform to enhance their commitment to a diverse, appreciative, and prejudice-free workplace culture. Learn more
