is professor of experimental nanophysics at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, working at the interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center.

He obtained his PhD from Stony Brook University in New York in 1998, did a post-doc at Michigan State University, and landed at Jyväskylä in 2001, where he has been working since then.

His interests in nanosciences are fairly wide, ranging from thermal transport in nanostructures, phononic crystals, superconducting device physics to helium ion microscopy of microbiological samples and nanostructure fabrication using the helium ion microscope.
