Direct measurement d(α,γ)⁶Li at LUNA

The talk summarizes the first phase of the direct d(alpha,gamma)⁶Li cross section measurement at energies of astrophysical interest by the LUNA collaboration at Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso. The role of ⁶Li during primordial nucleosynthesis, the current problems of explaining its abundance in very old stars, the measurement approach, details about the beam induced background and ideas to control it are the main topics.
