The legal framework for the work of the Equal Opportunities Officer at the HZDR is provided by the Federal Equal Opportunities Act (BGleiG). The aim of this law is primarily to realize and monitor equality between women and men.
In addition, it also aims to:
- Eliminate existing disadvantages on the basis of gender and prevent future disadvantages (this particularly concerns the disadvantage of women).
- Improve family-friendliness and the compatibility of family, care and work for women and men.
- Men also benefit from the regulations of the BGleiG, the number of men who take parental leave or temporarily take over the care of children is also increasing at the HZDR.
At the HZDR there are a number of offers and measures that promote the compatibility of work and private life. Employees can contact the family office and the human resources department for questions regarding work-life balance.
The HZDR has the following basic regulations on the subject of equal opportunities, equality and diversity:
- General company agreement on equal opportunities at the HZDR dated 01.07.2020
- Equal opportunity plan of the HZDR dated February 16, 2021
- Guideline for gender-sensitive language of 01.10.2020
- Gender Equality Plan
