Ion Energy Distribution in Plasma Immersion Ion Implantation
Mändl, S.; Brutscher, J.; Günzel, R.; Möller, W.
In plasma immersion ion implantation the ions are accelerated
from the plasma to the target. The total current, as delivered by the high
voltage pulse generator, is only a qualitative reading of the ion flux
density on the target. The main reason for this is a large secondary electron
coefficient, strongly depending on the ion energy and the surface composition.
In this work direct time-resolved ion flux measurements are presented.
High voltage pulses of eU0 = 5, 10, 15 and 20 kV were applied to a spherical
target with a small orifice. The ions were collected in the high vacuum
region behind this orifice and their energy distribution function exhibits
a sharp peak at the nominal energy eU0 with the height decreasing during
the voltage pulse, in agreement with the theoretical predictions for a
collisionless transit through the plasma sheath.

Sizing and Testing of Stand Alone Photovoltaic Systems
Rindelhardt, U.; Futterschneider, H.; Garche, J.; Schulze, L.
Based on the analysis of a 43 years irradiation data serie (Dresden) sizing rules for stand alone PV systems are presented. Values of sizing irradiation and system autonomy are derived from the statistical analysis, taking into account realistic properties of the PV system components. These data seem to bee applicable to larger regions of Gemany and middle Europe. The sizing rules are compared with experimantal results and with results of simulations.

Writing FIB Implantation an Subsequent Anisotropic Wet Chemical Etching for Fabrication of 3D Structures in Silicon
Schmidt, B.; Bischoff, L.; Teichert, J.
The further miniaturization of silicon micromechanical
structures in combination with the high developed microelectronic technology
at the mm- and sub-mm level will lead to a new generation of microdevices.
A modern technique to fabricate three dimensional micromechanical structures
is the combination of high concentration p+-doping by writing ion implantation
using a focused ion beam (FIB) and subsequent anisotropic and selective
wet chemical etching. FIB patterned and chemical etched 3D structures have
been fabricated using 35 keV Ga+-ion implantation and subsequent anisotropic
etching in KOH/H2O-solution. The Ga+-FIB patterned test structures were
characterized by scanning electron microscopy.

Computer Simulation and Boron Nitride
Albe, K.; Möller, W.; Heinig, K.-H.
This paper presents computer simulation studies of boron
nitride using ab initio and empirical methods. Results of self-consistent
DFT-LDA calculations are shown, which were performed to characterize static
ground-state properties of the different BN modifications. With help of
these calculations the cubic phase is predicted as stable modification
under standard conditions. Furthermore an empirical interatomic potential
is introduced, which was parameterized by means of ab initio results and
allows a reliable description of structures and energies of Bn, Nm and
BnNm clusters and solid modifications. Finally, using this classical forcefield
a MD-simulation of N2 impact on a h-BN target is presented.

Incident Ion Monitoring during Plasma Immersion Ion Implantation by Direct Measurements of High Energy Secondary Electrons
Nakamura, K.; Mändl, S.; Brutscher, J.; Günzel, R.; Möller, W.
The present paper investigated time-resolved incident ion monitoring during PIII processes on the basis of high energy secondary electron measurements with scintillation technique. Taking into consideration the sheath geometry and a secondary electron emission coefficient of the target material, the experimental data were in a good agreement with theoretical predictions for dependences on target-voltage, pressure and plasma density.

Tribological Properties of Silicon Nitride Ceramics Modified by Titanium and subsequent Oxygen Implantation
Brenscheidt, F.; Mändl, S.; Günzel, R.; Wieser, E.; Möller, W.; Fischer, W.; Herrmann, M.
A silicon nitride based ceramic was implanted with 150
keV titanium to a fluence of 1017 ions/cm2. Subsequently the samples were
implanted with oxygen using plasma immersion ion implantation (PIII) and
conventional beam-line implantation to stimulate the formation of lubricating
oxides in the surface. The wear is reduced for all implanted samples. The
friction coefficient is slightly higher than in the non-implanted case
for all implantation conditions investigated although oxide formation in
the wear track is suggested by detection of a relatively high amount of
oxygen in the wear track as indicated by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy
(EDX). We discuss the possible mechanisms that lead to the observed tribological
behaviour.

K- - meson production in proton-nucleus collisions
Sibirtsev, A.; Büscher, M.; Müller, H.; Schneidereit, C.
K- - meson production in proton-nucleus interactions at projectile energies up to 15 GeV is studied. As a first step the available data on K- - meson production in pp interactions are compared with different parametrizations and results of model calculations. Because of considerable uncertainties in the current descriptions of the energy dependence of the elementary K- cross section a new parametrization is suggested. Experimental data on K- production in pA collisions are analyzed in the framework of the Rossendorf-Collision and folding models. Satisfactory descriptions of the momentum spectra at forward angles are achieved. From an analysis of the A dependence it can be concluded that K- mesons are well suided to investigate final-state interactions for particles interacting strongly with the residual nucleus. Furthermore, we propose experimental studies on K- production close to threshold. Such measurements are particularly sensitive to contributions from secondary processes or from multi-nucleon interactions.

Käubler, L.; Prade, H.; Reif, J.; Schwengner, R.; Winter, G.; Grawe, H.; Heese, J.; Kluge, H.; Maier, K. H.; Schubart, R.; Spohr, K.
In-beam spectroscopic investigations of 109Sn have been performed
using the reactions 55Mn(58Ni,3pn) and 106Cd(alpha,n)
with E58Ni= 240 MeV and Ealpha=23 MeV, respectively.
An extended level scheme of 109Sn is presemted showing high-spin
states up to Ex ca. 8 MeV with Jpi=(41/2+).
The problem of the 109Sn ground state has been solved identifying
a 12.8 keV transition deexciting the 7/2+ state to the 5/2+
g.s. A half-life of T1/2=7(1) ns has been measured for
the 17/2+ state at Ex=2114 keV. The experimental
data are compared with the predictions of shell-model calculations.

a 12.8 keV 7/2+ -> 5/2+ transition. A half life of
T1/2=7(1) ns has been measured for the 17/2+ state
at Ex=2114 keV. The experimental data are compared with the
predictions of shell-model calculations.

First Observation of the Scissors Mode in a Gamma-Soft Nucleus: The Case of 196Pt
von Brentano, P.; Eberth, J.; Enders, J.; Esser, L.; Herzberg, R.-D.; Huxel, N.; Meise, H.; von Neumann-Cosel, P.; Nicolay, N.; Pietralla, N.; Prade, H.; Reif, J.; Richter, A.; Schlegel, C.; Schwengner, R.; Skoda, S.; Thomas, H. G.; Wiedenhöver, I.; Winter, G.; Zilges, A.
A nuclear resonance fluorescence experiment with one of the newly developed
highly efficient EUROBALL cluster detectors has been performed on the gamma-soft
nucleus 196Pt. Magnetic dipole excitations were observed between
2 and 3.5 MeV excitation energiy. They are interpreted as the main fragments
of the scissors mode based on the measured excitation strengths and branching
ratios. A strong gamma decay, which we believe to be an E2 decay of the
scissors mode to the 21
+ state, is observed. It allows
an extraction of the effective boson quadrupole charges in the interacting
boson model.

Added Stiffness Relating to Small Motions of Two Concentric Cylinders Submitted to Axial Annular Incompressible Flow
Zoller, J.
Abstract
Axial incompressible, viscous flow is considered in an annular gap between two rigid cylinders. If the cylinders are displaced from their concentric positions in a certain manner, the displacement will cause reaction forces exerted by the fluid pressure. In this investigation the pressure fluctuations caused by the displacement of the structures are approximated by analytical means. Pressure fluctuations in phase with acceleration and velocity of the structure are not calculated here. Stationary flow is considered, because structural displacements are assumed to be small.

Schwankungen des Massenstroms bei Druckentlastungsvorgängen
Lucas, D.; Prasser, H.-M.
