HIF scientist Dr. Anna Vanderbruggen receives HZDR Communication Award
Recycling used batteries and especially the graphite they contain is Dr. Vanderbruggen's research focus. Her concern is not only to increase the amount of recycled graphite, but also to report on the important topic of battery recycling. She has now received an award for her science communication.
"Do good and talk about it" this saying coined by Georg-Volkmar Graf Zedtwitz-Arnim has lost none of its validity. And it is particularly true for Dr. Anna Vanderbruggen from the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), who is therefore delighted to receive the HZDR Communication Award. To explain her innovative method for recycling graphite from used lithium-ion batteries, Vanderbruggen successfully communicates via various social media. Her account on LinkedIn now has nearly 2,700 followers, making her one of the micro-influencers whose posts have a high reach and thus awareness. The HIF researcher also gave various radio interviews on MDR and also conducted video shoots. With this effort, she has succeeded in raising the profile not only of her own research, but also of the HZDR and the HIF.
