French-German Research: 50 Years In The Light Of The Laser

The French Embassy in Berlin and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers organize a French-German colloquium entitled “50 Years In The Light Of The Laser”, which takes place on November 5 and 6, 2010, in the French Embassy located at the Pariser Platz in Berlin. The event intends to stimulate discussions on fascinating new perspectives for laser research and establish contacts for further scientific co-operations between France and Germany.
The colloquium takes place under the patronage of the French Ambassador in Berlin and the President of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. It is carried by the French Embassy, the Helmholtz Association, the Freie Universität Berlin and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in the frame of the Science Year 2010 - The Future of Energy .

Financial support
Participants from abroad can receive financial support to cover - within reason - their costs of travel and accommodation. We especially welcome master, diploma and graduate students as well as postdocs who work in the field! The support will be paid cash at the beginning of the colloquium. Please submit the application for financial support soon using the fax sheet attached. We will answer you as soon as possible.
The latest submission date for financial support is October 25, 2010.
In the frame of our possibilities we intend to compensate French participants with 250 Euros, and - except from local participants - Germans with 150 Euros.
Poster presentations
We encourage our participants to bring a poster along. We especially appreciate posters that show results from a successful French-German scientific cooperation employing laser technology. The best poster will be awarded with a valuable prize.
